As a trustee of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, Joe Stewart recently directed a $500,000 contribution to the Southern University System Foundation. In recognition of this gift and his long standing commitment to the University, we will recognize Joe for his sizable support toward the advancement of the University’s mission on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Donald Wade House on the Baton Rouge campus of Southern University and A&M College.

Stewart is chief executive officer of Stewart Industries, LLC, an automotive components and related parts sub-assembly company. He has been a trustee of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation since August 2001. He and his wife, Clara are long-time residents of Battle Creek, Michigan. Stewart is a retired senior vice president of corporate affairs and chief ethics officer of W.K. Kellogg Company.

The Maringouin, Louisiana native earned a degree in food and nutrition from Southern University in 1965 and has been awarded an honorary doctorate of science from Southern University, and an honorary doctorate of public service from Albion College.
