The Southern University System Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation securing financial support for each of the five campuses of the Southern University System since 1968. The Foundation bridges relationships with faculty, students, alumni, friends, corporations and other foundations interested in academic excellence for the University System.  

The Southern University System Foundation is a voluntary institute of business and professional leaders, proudly incorporated to establish scholarships for Southern University students.  

What is the Southern University System Foundation?

Established in 1968, the Southern University System Foundation exists to raise and manage private gifts to further educational excellence on all five campuses of the Southern University System. The Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation designated by the Louisiana Board of Regents as the primary fundraiser and manager of gifts to the University System from alumni, friends, corporations and other foundations. The Foundation works closely with the Southern University System Board of Directors to generate private gifts for major fundraising priorities across the system.

To enable the University to fulfill its own mission of excellence, the Foundation staff is dedicated to maximizing private support for the Southern University System. It is the goal of the Foundation to understand and serve donors and their interests, as well as the wants and needs of students, faculty and staff.  

It is at the Foundation level where the groundwork is laid for future fundraising success. By raising funds effectively, expanding the base of donors, encouraging increased levels of support, and retaining donors, the Foundation performs it responsibility of providing careful management of funds.  

Foundation Board of Directors and Executive Committee
The Board of Directors and the Executive Committee manage the business affairs and property of the Foundation.
