The Baton Rouge Area Foundation is a community foundation working in the capital region that connects philanthropists with nonprofits to make sure the needs of Baton Rouge area communities are met. John Davies has served as president and CEO since June 1988. During his tenure, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation has grown from $3 million to $608 million in assets.

Baton Rouge Area Foundation has played an instrumental role in helping the Southern University System Foundation secure Endowed Professorships such as Dr. James A. Joseph United Companies Endowed Chair, College of Business, and The Baton Rouge Area Foundation Endowed Professorship, SU School of Nursing.
