RON SUTTON

Business Development Manager
SU Alum

Coca-Cola has been a supporting partner of Southern University since 1990. Since that time, the collaboration has yielded many projects and initiatives that have proven beneficial to SU System campuses, students, faculty, and staff.

Amite, Louisiana native Ron Sutton has played a significant role in this partnership. He says, “With the evolution of college sports, the arena for corporate sponsorship grew, and this witnessed a change for Coca-Cola and higher education.

“In 1990, Coca-Cola issued a starting level of a $10,000 contribution to Southern University. The collaboration made great business sense for our company at the time because SU was a leader among historically black colleges and universities and small colleges. Today, that contribution has grown to more than $3 million dollars,” said Sutton.

Sutton is proud to be a part of this partnership because Southern University provided him with the education he needed to succeed in business. The 1982 college of business graduate says SU put him on the right path.

For more than 100 years Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Company has proudly supported many civic, educational, and charitable organizations serving our communities and continues to do so today.
