Southern University, the only historically black college and university system in the country was founded in 1880. In honor of our founding (March 1880), the Southern University System, in partnership with the Southern University Alumni Federation and Southern University System Foundation, are creating the ‘The Founder’s Fund’, a scholarship fund dedicated to student scholarships. All Proceeds are tax-deductible and in support of scholarships.

Individual gifts, Chapters, Groups, Organizations, and more are encouraged to give in support of our greatest asset…OUR STUDENTS! No donation is too small or large. All donors will be recognized at the end of Founder’s month. Your support matters!

The scholarships will be awarded system-wide based on criteria developed by our scholarship committee (financial need, academics, extra-curricular, and community activities).
