The Dr. Kamran Abdollahi Urban Forestry Memorial Scholarship

Professor Dr. Abdollahi dedicated three decades of his life to Southern University and A&M College at Baton Rouge and leaves behind a legacy as a brilliant scholar, dedicated teacher and mentor, champion for African American students, and was a strong advocate who exemplified Southern University’s mission to provide excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Professor Abdollahi was universally acknowledged as a man of the highest principles and integrity and was widely respected as a dedicated champion of the rights of students, faculty, and staff alike, He was a founding member and served for a decade (2006-2016) as Program Leader-Chair and Graduate Director for the Urban Forestry Baccalaureate, Masters and Doctoral programs in the College of Agricultural, Family & Consumer Sciences.

Dr. Abdollahi’s students stated:

His love for urban forestry education and student success is unparalleled. To honor the life, love, legacy and achievements of Dr. Abdollahi, we have established The Dr. Kamran Abdollahi Urban Forestry Memorial Scholarship Fund that benefit the students and continue his mission.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for your support by making a donation to this scholarship fund. Our goal is to honor him by supporting urban forestry students who display leadership, exemplary character, involvement in community service and will leverage their Urban Forestry degree to advance the world.
