The Jewel Limar Prestage Public Policy, Polling and Research Center (JLPC) is inspired by the life and work of Dr. Jewel Limar Prestage. She devoted her life and career to addressing the needs of her community though inspiring thousands of students, from all socioeconomic backgrounds, to not only help themselves, but to reach out and uplift others. This center will be the only polling center at a Historically Black College or University, which will complete mixed methods research that will tell the stories of Blacks with data. JLPC will be housed and managed by the Department of Political Science inside the Nelson Mandela College of Government and Social Sciences.
