Across campuses, student publications have long been the heartbeat of honest storytelling, fearless inquiry, and powerful tradition. They are where students learn to question, to write, to lead—and where the history of our institution, its system, and the community at large is recorded one project at a time.
Today, we face a challenge we can’t meet alone. Due to rising operational costs and ongoing budget shortfalls, our student-ran publications are at risk. What used to be covered by institutional fee-based funding is now shrinking, and unless we act, we may lose vital platforms that have shaped voices, documented decades of change, and built a legacy of journalistic excellence.
Why It Matters
Student Media is more than a club or an extracurricular. We are:
- A training ground for future journalists, editors, and designers.
- A mirror of student life—telling stories others might miss.
- A record of legacy—preserving history, community, and culture.
- A platform for truth in an era when authentic voices are more important than ever.
We don’t want to see this legacy silenced—not now, not ever.
How You Can Help
We’re launching a fundraiser to keep our publications running, print future issues, maintain our digital platforms, and invest in equipment and mentorship that help students thrive in their roles.
Our goal: $15,000 by June 30, 2026

- Printing and distribution of the Jaguar Yearbook & EGO Magazine
- Modern Technology to streamline podcast operations
- Design/Media Workshops for students and training for all professional staff
