Building Futures Construction Management Summer Camp

Southern University and A&M College’s Department of Construction Management invites rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to spend a week discovering what it means to build the world around them. The Building Futures Summer Camp offers students a rare, hands-on look at the construction industry, from reading blueprints to exploring real campus construction projects.

Over five days, campers will work alongside construction management faculty and professionals, gaining real-world experience in project planning, teamwork, and leadership. Activities are designed to connect classroom concepts to career possibilities, giving students a foundation they can build on for years to come.

Camp runs July 13 through 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily at the P.B.S. Pinchback Engineering Building on the Southern University campus in Baton Rouge. The $150 camp fee covers all materials, a camp t-shirt, personal protective equipment, and daily lunch at Mayberry Dining Hall. Space is limited to 30 students, so early registration is encouraged.
