The Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on June 30, 1934, on the campus of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This chapter was chartered by seven young ambitious ladies who saw the opportunity to bring forth a civic organization, rooted in public service, to address the needs of the campus and surrounding Baton Rouge community.
The Deltas Initiated Into Alpha Tau fund awards tuition assistance and supports other University iniatives annually. Awards will made be on a competitive basis for the Fall and Spring academic semesters. In collaboration with the Southern University System Foundation, this Scholarship program will provide significant financial support for high achieving SU students. Eligibility for scholarships are available at the main campus: Southern University Agriculture and Extension Center, Southern University Baton Rouge, and the Southern University Law Center.
