Southern University Speech and Theater Program

The Southern University Speech and Theater program performs several theatrical shows and showcases each semester with a next-to-nothing operating budget. The Frank Hayden Theater was shut down and inoperable for many years, but thanks to our professors securing grant funding from the Board of Regents, we were able to reopen and upgrade the space in 2023. Since then, our program has grown steadily due to the hard work and dedication of professors and students. In addition to putting on plays, original work, speech contests, talent shows, and full-length musicals, we want to bring our talented students to competitions, festivals, and auditions in the upcoming year. We are always looking to raise money for acquiring the rights to published productions, scripts, and costumes for our students. Please consider donating to the Speech and Theater program to make our next season of performances possible. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

You may choose to donate online through our secure transaction system, or by mailing a check addressed to Southern University Speech and Theater Program and sending it to our physical address. All donations are 100% tax-deductible:
