The SU Academic Homecoming is our opportunity to gather alumni, corporate stakeholders, and the Southern University community for an inspiring celebration of excellence. Event Highlights at SU Academic Homecoming

Saturday, March 29, 2025

  • SU STEAMB Fest
    Kick off SU Academic Homecoming by welcoming over 1.500 k-12 students with interactive exhibits and activities showcasing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, and Business—designed to inspire the next generation of innovators. 
  • Jazz on the Bluff Concert
    Relax and reconnect at an evening of live jazz on the scenic Mississippi River bluffs. Enjoy a night of music, networking, and celebration with fellow alumni and community partners.  Our students and alumni from the Alvin Baptiste Jazz Institute will provide the entertainment.


Sunday, March 30, 2025

  • Departmental Picnics
    Revisit your college days at casual departmental picnics. Connect with classmates, faculty, and staff in a relaxed, fun-filled setting. Each college will have a picnic area for students, alumni, and stakeholders.
  • Presidential Reception
    Celebrate at the Presidential Reception, held at the historic Donald C. Wade House. Network with Southern University leadership, distinguished alumni, and corporate partners as we toast to the future of our university.

  • Presidential Golf Classic
    Enjoy a day on the green at the Presidential Golf Classic. Network with alumni and corporate partners while supporting scholarships and university programs.
  • Mentoring Monday
    Make a difference by participating in Mentoring Monday. Share insights with current students, helping them navigate their careers and future paths.

  • The Dean’s Leadership Roundtables
    Engage in strategic discussions with the Deans of each College, Faculty, Industry, and Alumni focused on advancing the College’s mission and expanding corporate partnerships and collaboration.
  • Chancellor’s Luncheon
    Conclude the inaugural SU Academic Homecoming with the Chancellor’s Luncheon. Featuring keynote speeches and acknowledgments, this luncheon celebrates the achievements of the week and inspires us for what’s to come.
