“SUstain the Yard” Emergency Educational Financial Assistance Fund
The Houston Community Ambassadors (HCA) Scholarship Fund have received 3 emergency financial assistance requests, due to hardships for the 2023-2024 Academic Year at Southern University and Southern Lab. Our requesters are:
- An incoming freshman from the Greater Houston, TX area, majoring in Accounting with an unexpected financial need
- Two students in elementary and middle school, who have been attending Southern Lab for the past 4 years, whose parents recently lost their jobs and home
As a MDM (Million Dollar March) Captain, I am asking and challenging my friends, family, colleagues, and community supporters to make a financial donation to our “Emergency Educational Financial Assistance Fund” starting Tuesday, August 8, 2023 through Friday, September 8, 2023.
During these tough times, every little bit will help, so please consider giving $10, $25, $50, $100, or more to assist these 3 needy students. Our goal to reach is $7,000 and all donations are tax-deductible through the Southern Foundation.
