SUstain the Yard: 2024 Earth Day Celebration Community Blood Drive and Campus Cleanup 

Attention: Southern University Students, Faculty, Staff, Administration, Alumni, Former Athletes, and Community Members!

Please join us Saturday, April 20th from 8 AM to 1 PM for a community blood drive and campus cleanup!  These two events are in partnership with the Houston Community Ambassadors, Minority Associations of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS), Councilwoman Chauna Banks – District 2, and the LifeShare Blood Center. 

A single pint of your blood can save 3 lives!!!  

Safety Reminder:  Blood donors who would like to volunteer to collect trash, please remember if you give blood before volunteering, it is strongly advised to wait at least 2-4 hours before starting any physical activity or heavy lifting.

Volunteers aged 13 and up and minors under 18 must have a signed parental consent form before being allowed to volunteer.

Volunteers will earn community credits for organizational tracking, and we encourage organizations to wear their gear!
